Drag to move the cursor on the car display and tap to click. With a keyboard, the arrow keys move between the videos and Enter plays the selected one.
The APK is published here and nowhere else. Android only installs an update over your copy when it carries Media2Car’s signature.

Direct install, not from the Play Store
Install the APK directly on your Android phone, check it in the car with the local guided tutorial, then unlock. Most phones are done in a few minutes.
Get the file on your Android phone. If the browser asks whether to keep it, confirm.
Temporarily allow installs from your browser, then install Media2Car like any other app. You can switch the permission off again afterwards.
Open Media2Car and tap “Open guided setup” under “Set up for Android Auto” — the assistant walks you through the confirmation your phone needs.
Connect your phone to the car and start Media2Car from the Android Auto app menu.
Run the guided setup from step 03 again — it sorts this out on most phones. Last resort, once: open the Android Auto settings, tap “Version” ten times, open the ⋮ menu → “Developer settings”, enable “Unknown sources”, then reconnect.

An Android phone running Android 12 or later with an unmodified system — rooted phones, unlocked bootloaders and custom ROMs fail the device check — plus mobile data or Wi-Fi on the phone and a vehicle or head unit with Android Auto. License → Buy license runs the device check before checkout, so you find out before paying; the Android version alone does not guarantee support. Touch mirroring requires Android 12L or later; Android 12 supports visual mirroring.
Browser and screen-mirroring features are not supported for projected Android Auto through the Play Store. Media2Car is therefore distributed directly as an APK from media2car.com.
Download it only from media2car.com. Android shows a few prompts for any app that does not come from the Play Store — they are listed under Setup. Releases are signed by Media2Car, and Android only installs an update over your copy when the signature matches. No. Media2Car is an Android app for Android Auto and needs an Android phone running Android 12 or later. There is no iPhone or CarPlay version.
Partly. The local guided tutorial runs on your car display and confirms the connection, and License → Buy license checks your phone before payment. The tutorial is a demo, though: there is no usage trial, and Car Browser and Screen Mirror unlock only with a paid license.
You pay inside the app. As soon as you return to Media2Car, the phone you bought from unlocks by itself — there is no link to open on that phone. Media2Car also emails you an activation link (sender “Media2Car” — check spam) as the backup for a new phone or a reinstall: open it on that phone within 1 hour; it works once. Opened in a browser instead? Media2Car → License → Already bought? → paste the link → Activate. Expired? Request a fresh one from the same place.
Touch control needs a phone on Android 12L or later and a one-time approval in Android's Accessibility settings; after that it runs automatically for every Screen Mirror session. On Android 13 and later the switch is often greyed out the first time (“Restricted setting”): open App info → ⋮ → Allow restricted settings, then enable it — Media2Car walks you through exactly this. Android 12 mirrors without touch.
No. Use Car Browser and Screen Mirror only while the car is parked: a video on the car display is in the driver’s view even when a passenger operates it, and that can be illegal and dangerous. Settings → Hide display while driving blanks the picture once your car reports a driving speed (only on cars that share their speed with Android Auto).
Your license is linked to one active device. Restore it on a new phone with your purchase email (License → Already bought?); at most one device switch per 7 days.
Yes. Media2Car checks for new releases inside the app and directs you to the latest APK download on media2car.com. If an update stops with “App not installed”, your Media2Car is older than 2.0.13 and was signed with a previous key: uninstall it, install the latest APK, then restore your license with your purchase email (License → Already bought?). After each update, Media2Car asks you to repeat the short guided setup step once so Android Auto keeps listing it.
